2 Months

2 Months was a busy month!  I'm so much more interactive now.  I "coo" and "ahh" and smile when Mommy and Daddy talk to me.  I like to do this the most when lying flat on my back or in my bouncer at the kitchen table.

I am also am obsessed with sucking my fist, and Mommy and Daddy are worried I'm going to be a thumb-sucker; they keep trying that stupid pacifier with me but so far my first is winning.

Every now and then I try just sucking on my thumb, but then I poke myself in the eye with my other fingers.

This month I went on a car trip with Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Melissa, and Aunt Rebecca to NY to celebrate my great-grandma's 90th birthday!  I did "ok" in the car; I slept a lot but I also cried a lot.

Shortly after my 2-month birthday, Aunt Melissa got married to my now-Uncle Matt!  We don't have any of the pictures back yet, of course, but here is one of mommy holding me while I'm all dressed up in my little suit!

On a sad note, I had my first set of shots - ouch!  I cried; Mommy cried; it was bad.  I didn't spike any fever, but Mommy and Daddy still gave me Tylenol because I was shrieking in pain a few hours later.  It was not a good day!

Lastly, my baby acne cleared up this month - hooray!  I had a case of cradle cap for a while, but after a lot of toothbrush scrubbing in the bathtub, it's almost all cleared up too!
Weight: 12 lbs 8 oz
Clothing Size: 3-6 Months.  I am long and lean so Carter's clothes fit me the best.
Diaper Size: Size 1 as of my 2-month birthday, but at 12.5 lbs, I'll probably be moving into Size 2 shortly
Feeding: Mommy went back to work so I had to start taking the bottle again and boy did I HATE IT!  I screamed and screamed and Daddy had so much trouble getting me to drink that bottle.  Mommy nurses me first thing in the morning, sometimes comes home during lunch, and then I want to nurse all evening long.  I usually feed about 3 oz every 2 hours.

Sleep: I still sleep great at night, anywhere from 5-8 hours straight.  I started taking naps [sporatically] in my crib around 6 weeks, and by 8 weeks I was napping at least once a day in my crib, with the rest usually being in my swing or rocker, and then one on Daddy.  I am slowly developing a nap schedule.

Milestones: Nothing major this month.  I still smile, coo, and am continually improving in my eyesight

Loves: Nursing, attention, talking, diaper changes, being naked, bath time, activity mat lights/music, looking at myself in the swing mirror, and walks (either in the Moby on Mommy, Bjorn on Daddy, or in the stroller)

Dislikes: Long car trips and being unentertained

2-Month Favorites:
  1. Baby Connect app (2 month favorite!) - This was so necessary as Mommy and Daddy started to put me on a "schedule."  In the app's monthly view, you could see the feeding/sleeping patterns developing at a glance without doing any guesswork!
  2. Motorola Video Monitor (2 month favorite!) - This has also helped as I learn to nap in my crib; Mommy and Daddy can see how long I spend "playing" before I finally fall asleep.
  3. Meds: Simethicone (for the gas) and Infant Tylenol (for post shots)
  4. Swing - I loved my swing the first week or two home, but then HATED it for over a month and a half.  All of sudden, I decided it's OK again.  I stare at myself in the mirror, watch the mobile, and peacefully drift off to sleep.
  5. Moby wrap (with Mommy) & Baby Bjorn (with Daddy) - perfect for big celebrations, walks, church, etc.  I usually fuss at first, but then I pass out nice and happy.  (Note: the Air Bjorn is amazing because it's breathable for walks in humid summer)
  6. Hands-free Pumping Bra - Mommy loves this because she can continue to work on her computer while pumping in her office, which makes the pumping time go by much faster throughout the day
